It's been a rough and tumble May. Temperatures up and down, no rain, but the garden persisting throughout.
We even had snow in May!
More garden musing shared below....
Okay - well, not quite.
this house sparrow was chomping on the pear buds
❀
I mean it definitely was not like this, just two months ago
March 20, 2015, house finches perching in the pear tree
❀
But as the pear tree bloomed heavily this spring, the best blooming I have seen in more than many years
Squirrels will have a field day with the bumper crop of pears this year!
❀
the petals fell, covering the ground like a light snow...
please, no comments about hoses and miscellaneous clutter!!
❀
The white dogwood shone beautiful against a May sky...
Best blooming year for this one, too!
❀
Amethyst burst forth on top of snowy petals...
Centaurea Amethyst-on-Snow
❀
And the warblers have returned...
Black and White Warbler
who can look less angry than in the photo above!
❀
The white rugosa popped open this week!
pretty water droplets came from hose, not rain. we are sorely lacking in rain this month!
❀
And May also brought forth the first Magnolia blooms from a tree planted last year...

How was your May?
I'm fine thnx!
